Shipwreck of Ulysses

Sculpture representing a shipwreck, of the one who reaches land and is surprised to be alive, I titled it “The Shipwreck of Ulysses.”. It is reminiscent of a sculpture that is in the Parthenon museum, in Athens. I discovered this a couple of years after making it.….The resemblance to "our Christs" is surprising. When I made it, I got rid of those clichés and went back in my genetic memory to reconcile myself with the forms of the past..

Cork oak wood sculpture, that I carved from a tree that was still alive, I picked it up from the widening of the Sierra de Aracena road, there were many of these logs, like shipwrecked people on the shore…
